So you want to learn how to make your vegetable or flower garden easier to manage and more bountiful at the same time? Raised bed gardening is the answer. During this class we will discuss all the specifics including site location, assembling and setup of bed and what kind of soil you need and how much. We'll dig in and prepare and plant a raised bed.and discuss the care of the garden including proper watering, the use of soil amendments and crop protection. We know that turning a confused gardener into a confident on is only a class away.

Estate Planning

This class will begin with an overview of basic estate planning, including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Directives, etc. The class will then delve into, learning how revocable trusts can help avoid probate and protect your privacy, and how irrevocable trusts can protect your assets from nursing home or Maine Care (Medicaid) liens. Discussion will include other strategies to safeguard assets from life events such as business failure or divorce of adult children. Kathryn Bedell is a lawyer in York, Maine and has been practicing for 31 years. Her practice focuses on estate planning, asset preservation, and probate matter.

Enamel earrings

This course on enamel earrings is a quick intro to enameling. Will will discuss sifting and wet laying the enamel on the metal. Enamel is powdered glass that is heated with a kiln or a torch to achieve a beautiful color. Each student will learn how to cut and form the metal to create the shapes. Students will also learn how to use rivets or other cold connections to attach pieces of metal to each other. We will explore multiple ways of designing an ear wire to complete the pieces.This is class is open to all skill levels, there will be demonstrations, and plenty of work time.
