Art Adventure-The Traveling Sketchbook Part I

This traveling sketchbook class is for everyone. With just a pen, pencil and a sketchbook you can begin this creative adventure. We start this class with an overview of different types of sketchbooks and how you can use them, the minimum sketching supplies to bring with you and the maximum amount of supplies you might want to bring with you. We will look at various techniques and applications you can use in your sketchbook. Beginner to experienced artists will love this process. Sketching develops your observing and drawing skills, increases your visual vocabulary, expands your creativity and is very relaxing. Individual expression, growth and creativity is encouraged. Every week we will meet at a different location. For all levels. This class is perfect for beginners who would like to try a new experience with a minimum of expense for supplies. Beginners are very welcome. Mary Byrom, an award winning painter, is nationally known for her sensitive renditions of the Maine landscape. She is a rural and urban sketcher and painter, sketching extensively indoors and out, teaching for over 20 years. She has been featured in the Portsmouth Herald, the Portland Press Herald, Epoch Times, Artscope Magazine and Southwest Art Magazine. Most recently, the September 2017 Plein Air Magazine features her work and paintings of Maine. Bring your own materials; a list is available upon request.
