Falun Gong: Introduction

Falun Gong is an ancient, traditional Chinese practice of "self cultivation"- a way to improve mental and physical wellness through five easy-to-learn exercises, meditation, and the elevation of one's mind. The practice is based on the universal values of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance. This introductory demo class will provide a brief overview of the system, plus a demonstration of the exercises. All Falun Gong instruction is free of charge. Class fee is an AE administrative cost. This dialogue-centered series provides a teen culture crash course, generation-specific narrative, and communication brainstorming, all led by a current college student and Gen Z-centered author. She is also a Marshwood High School graduate. Michaela is the author of "Sitting in A Circle: Gen Z Feminism and The Spirit", due for release in June 2021 from The Pilgrim Press, as well as a student birth doula with DONA International. She has led and listened to her fellow young adults in a range of capacities for the last six years through her work as a dance teacher, mentor, campus president, and policymaker. She presented a similar version of this workshop in the local and national settings in the summer of 2019.
