Silver and Gemstone Latch Bracelet

In this class, you'll learn to form and forge metal to create a beautiful bracelet with a unique front clasp featuring a small bezel-set stone. Through demonstrations and ample work time, each student will master various soldering techniques and the metal forming process to shape the bracelet. After fabricating the bracelet, you'll add a small stone to serve as the clasp. All materials are included, and no prior experience is necessary. Join us and craft a stunning, personalized bracelet from start to finish! Instructor: Alice Carroll

On January 29th, our final class will take place at the York Community Auditorium. We'll have the opportunity to tour the facility, explore behind-the-scenes operations, and experience what it’s like to perform on stage!

Successful Scholarship Searches and Applications

Scholarships can go a long way in helping students cover college costs but being successful in the scholarship application process can take some work. In this session, you’ll learn to build and work your own scholarship application plan. You’ll also learn about and try out different scholarship websites, learn how to best use a scholarship information tracker, and learn to avoid some of the challenges of the scholarship process. Students and parents interested in learning about the scholarship process can join Jessica Whittier, College Access Counselor with the Finance Authority of Maine for this 1-hour workshop as we talk scholarships. #FAME

Her business experience includes international work for large companies including MCI, Motorola and Bath Iron Works and has been a business leader at multiple small businesses and start-ups. Her business, Dynamic Foresight, provides business and strategy consulting and training to business leaders and organizations. Her work has been profiled in the Boston Globe, Downeast Magazine and Maine Magazine. In 2022, she was honored as one of Maine Magazine's “Mainers of the Year.”

Boat America is a National Association of Boating Law Administrators certificate class that offers an in-depth and interesting boating safety course, and provides the knowledge needed to obtain a boating certificate. Some insurance companies will also offer discounts on boating insurance to boaters who successfully complete this course. Introduction to Boating – Types of power boats, boating vocabulary, sailboats, paddle boats, powering boats, and engine types. Boating Law – Boat registration, regulations, hull identification numbers, required safety equipment, Federal boating law, state boating law, and reporting accidents. Safety Equipment – Life jackets, fire extinguishers, sound-producing devices, visual distress signals, anchors, and other safety equipment. Safe Operation and Navigation – Buoys and beacons, aids to navigation, navigation rules, docking, and the dangers of alcohol on the water.
