“My Life as a UN civilian, peacekeeper and photographer”

Audrey will talk about her life as an international civil servant, the basic structure of the United Nations and its related activities. She will project her vintage images and tell her personal story about being the UN photographer in Mogadishu, Somalia, in 1993 during the infamous “Blackhawk Down” days.  Audrey Gottlieb worked for the United Nations from 1973-2007. Her career spanned jobs from Typist to Translator. She currently teaches English as a Second Language (ESL) for York Adult Education and works as a freelance photojournalist.
