Drawing for the Absolute Beginner

If you've always been interested in drawing but don't really know how to get started, then this is the course for you. Gain a solid foundation and understanding of the basics of drawing and become the artist you've always dreamed you could be! You'll become intimately familiar with paper types, drawing styles, rendering techniques, and the basic principles of perspective, layout, design, lighting, volume, and space. If you have an interest in learning what it's like to draw or would love to increase your current knowledge in the field of art and illustrating, then this course aims to fulfill all of your needs.

October’s great read is Hello Beautiful by Anne Napolitano, a New York Times Bestseller and Oprah's Book Club Pick. We will choose the following months’ books together.

A Flexible Spine

If you would seek health, look first to the spine, - Socrates In this class you will explore gentle movements, guided by verbal instructions, to develop awareness of the spine as a pathway to increasing the flexibility of the spine and to integrating it with the whole body to create easier movements and greater comfort. Maine Driving Dynamics
with Maine Bureau of Highway Safety

This two-class, five hour course offers all drivers the opportunity to improve their defensive driving abilities. The course includes attitudes and the basic elements that constantly challenge drivers on Maine’s highways. The course is taught by a certified Maine Driving Dynamics instructor. The course format engages students with lectures, videos, and class discussions/participation. Those completing the course will receive a three-point credit on their driving records. It is important that you arrive at class on time, otherwise, you will not receive credit.

Sew It, Don’t Throw It!

Did you know about 10% of landfill product is from textiles? With a few basic skills, we can work on lowering that number. In this class you’ll learn basic sewing skills to fix textiles around the house instead of replacing them. Does your favorite sweatshirt have a hole in it? Learn to patch it. Has that old t-shirt seen too many washes, but your not ready to part with it? Turn it into a bandana.
