YACE Volunteer Orientation

with Susan Gross

Mental Health First Aid is a national best-practice, evidence-based certification course that teaches you how to help someone who is in a mental health crisis. The training helps you identify, understand, and respond to signs of addictions and mental illness. This 8-hour course leads to a 3 year certification issued by the National Council on Behavioral Health. For school staff, you can earn 8 continuing ed credits while meeting the state mandate for suicide awareness training. This training is sponsored by a partnership between YACE and Choose to be Healthy Coalition of York Hospital.
