Oil, Acrylic and Gouache Painting - February

This studio painting class is for beginners to experienced painters looking to develop and expand their skills, explore color, create solid designs and increase their visual vocabulary while having a lot of fun!We will work with simple methods that can significantly improve your oil, acrylic or gouache painting through the use of form, light, color and atmosphere. Students will be introduced to the knowledge and skills needed to help them grow as painters. Individual expression and growth is encouraged. For all painting levels. Materials list presented at the first class. Beginners are very welcome. Mary Byrom, an award-winning painter, is nationally known for her sensitive renditions of the Maine landscape. She has painted in the studio and en plein air, teaching for over 20 years. She has been featured in the Portsmouth Herald, the Portland Press Herald, Epoch Times, Art Scope magazine and Southwest Art magazine. Most recently, the September 2017 Plein Air magazine features her work and paintings of Maine.
Students will be working with a limited palette in this class.
LIMITED PALETTE ~ Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Yellow Medium, Alizarin, Burnt Sienna, Titanium White.
