Gender, Race, and Class:Social Identities

with Soni Reese

How do the various identities that we are categorized into – such as gender, sexual orientation, race/ethnicity, and class, shape our experiences in our family, schools, workplace, and communities? Through discussions, books and articles, flms, videos, and analysis of media and popular culture, we will examine how individual experiences are shaped by broader social forces, and how they change over time and across cultures. (Eng. or SS -1 HS credit, college bound gain the academic, personal, social skills needed to succeed in college!)
