Chair Yoga

We will practice yoga from a chair, involving energetic movements that are designed to strengthen the body and bring awareness to our physical presence in the world. She has Ashtanga training [200 hr RYT], yin yoga training and chair yoga training with Peggy Cappy. She brings joy to her practice and teaches with enthusiasm, giving modifications. Her classes are themed so that the students are able to extract a message that fits their circumstances.

Stephanie brings with her a wealth of knowledge regarding recruitment, collaborative efforts with community members, public speaking and training, volunteer engagement, and helping people in need. In her personal time, Stephanie enjoys reading, working out, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Falun Gong: Introduction

Falun Gong is an ancient, traditional Chinese practice of "self cultivation"- a way to improve mental and physical wellness through five easy-to-learn exercises, meditation, and the elevation of one's mind. The practice is based on the universal values of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance. This introductory demo class will provide a brief overview of the system, plus a demonstration of the exercises. All Falun Gong instruction is free of charge. Class fee is an AE administrative cost. Ok, Zoomer: Tips for Parenting Teens from a Former Teen

This dialogue-centered series provides a teen culture crash course, generation-specific narrative, and communication brainstorming, all led by a current college student and Gen Z-centered author. Register to get the link for the livestream session. Michaela Flanders is a junior at Mount Holyoke College, where she majors in Bioethics and Psychology. She is also a Marshwood High School graduate. Michaela is the author of "Sitting in A Circle: Gen Z Feminism and The Spirit", due for release in June 2021 from The Pilgrim Press, as well as a student birth doula with DONA International. She has led and listened to her fellow young adults in a range of capacities for the last six years through her work as a dance teacher, mentor, campus president, and policymaker. She presented a similar version of this workshop in the local and national settings in the summer of 2019.

Social Justice Dialogue for Newcomers

It can be hard to know what to say when themes on race, gender, sexuality, and religion take front and center. This series utilizes intergroup dialogue and a welcoming atmosphere to get you started. Are you a parent, grandparent, or caregiver of a child with special needs? Want to understand and use the tools that teachers and support staff use successfully? This blended online and in-person course teaches individuals how to provide support to children (4 - 21 years of age) with intellectual/developmental delays, autism, or major mental health diagnosis in their home and community. (Note: This class meets the state requirements for certification as a Behavioral Health Profession for job placement, if certification is desired. CPR/First Aid is needed in conjunction with this course for certification. CPR cost is NOT included in the cost of this course.) Online portion and CPR must be completed before the Face-To-Face portion of the class.
