CNA February Nursing Assistant (CNA) Class

We partner with the quality facility Durgin Pines to help you learn the caring skills you need to earn your certificate and employment. Online Class is: February 5, 2024 Classes will be on Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays 8am-2pm In-person at Durgin Pines: LAB: TBD CLINICAL: TBD Please note: This is not an actual registration for the class. You must complete an orientation and assessment. The dates for orientation and assessment are: You must have confirmation from Buffy (207-344-3879) at Durgin Pines in order to be officially registered for the class. Continuum employees have preferred seating.

If you work for Durgin Pines, you can earn as you learn they will pay you to take the class, therefore the call is free. If don't want to work for Durgin Pines you can pay for the class yourself it's $1250.

Putting the Literacy in Financial Literacy: Book Club with FAME

Join FAME’s College Savings Counselor, Maire Pelletier, in dissecting Erin Lowery’s Broke Millennial Takes on Investing. This book club is great for someone looking for an introduction to different investment-related topics. In Lowery’s second edition of the Broke Millennial financial book series, she addresses some of the biggest questions early investors have, such as: 

  *  Should I invest while paying down student loans?   *  How do I invest in a socially responsible way?   *  What about robo-advisors and apps--are any of them any good?   *  Where can I look online for investment advice? 

Students will need to purchase their own copy of the book to participate.  


Successful Scholarship Searches and Applications

In this session you’ll learn to build and work your own scholarship application plan. You’ll also learn about and try out different scholarship websites, learn how to best use a scholarship information tracker, and learn to avoid some of the challenges of the scholarship process. Students and parents interested in learning about the scholarship process can join Jessica Whittier, College Access Counselor with the Finance Authority of Maine for this 1 hour workshop as we talk scholarships.
