American Heart Association / Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED for Adults, Children and Infants (March)(Fall 2017)

Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives.
BHP: Behavioral Health Professional Certification (March) (Fall 2017)

This certification course teaches individuals how to provide in-home support to children (4-18/21 years of age) with intellectual/developmental delays, Autism or major mental health diagnosis in their home and community – this class meets the state requirements for certification as a BHP for job placement. High school diploma or equivalency is required to attend this 35-hour BHP training. CPR/First Aid is needed in conjunction with this course for certification. Must be taken before course is completed. See dates on page 3. CPR cost is included in the cost of this course. Wednesdays, March 8, 5:30 - 8:30 pm - 12 weeks

English for Life! (Mornings) (Fall 17)

Non-native English speakers work on vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and pronunciation in order to improve their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in the English language. Citizenship test prep upon request. All students must meet with Ashley McKenna at 363-7922 for assessment and registration.
Indoor Walking Trails and Fitness Stations at YACE (December) (Fall 2017)
NOW THREE DAYS A WEEK! Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 4-8pm. Come in from the cold and walk around the Middle School. Choose “trails” with stairs or without. New this season are the fitness stations around the building which will help build muscle tone while you walk the trails. Your registration fee supports our Literacy Program. Thank you!
RAD - (Rape Aggression Defence) (Fall 2017)
The York Police Department will be offering the RAD (Rape Aggression Defence) Womens Self Defence course on the following dates. These classes are for women only. The course is taught by Officer Jamie Rooney and Officer Nick Piskopanis. The program is designed to reinforce self awareness skills as well as teach basic self defence moves. The class is a total of 12 hours. The York Police Department sponsors the class and so it is FREE for all participants. We ask only cost to the participant is their time.
