Maine artist Jaime Wing began using thread to create text and images on his prints and handmade paper - and he would like to share his process with you, step-by-step. A member of the Maine Crafts Association and Pickwick Independent Press, Jamie has been teaching printmaking workshops for several years.

You will create a beautiful sterling silver knotted bracelet. Through demonstration and hands-on time you will learn soldering and forming. This is a one day, 3 hours class. You will be familiarized with all bench tools, hammers and torches. No experience necessary. All metals, tools, and supplies provided. Class is located at Alice's studio in Portsmouth. Alice Carroll, who has a BFA from Maine College of Art and an MFA from Rochester Technology of Art, School for American Crafts, was an Artist in Residence at Penland School of Crafts in NC for two years. She came back to Maine in 1994 and has been teaching at Heartwood College of Art, Sanctuary Arts, and River Tree Arts.

This workshop includes a ring with a bezel set stone. You will learn the basic techniques and to finish a beautiful piece of jewelry. You can bring a stone, sea glass or beach stone of your choice for the ring or use a small black onyx that is provided. We will cover soldering, fusing, light forging and forming, and bezel setting. All metals, tools, and supplies provided. Class is located at Alice's studio in Portsmouth. Drilling Stone and Sea Glass

Learn to drill holes in beach stones or seaglass, then line the hole with a sterling tube rivet. You will create a silver piece of both a stone/glass riveted on top. Bring your collection and as time allows students will be able to drill and create beads and charms that they can attach to chains or wires. No experience necessary. All metals, tools, and supplies provided. Class is located at Alice's studio in Portsmouth.
