How to Play Piano by Ear

Learn one of music’s deepest mysteries: how to play songs without relying on music. A very practical presentation of music theory that includes predicting chord progressions, learning from recordings, and transposing-all expressed in everyday language. This is an ideal follow-up to the “Instant Piano” class and is open to anyone who has a basic understanding of chords on any instrument. Expand your musical horizons, and free yourself from sheet-music dependence, and be the life of the party! Prior experience with chords recommended. Fee includes the online book, online follow-up lessons, a recording of the class and an optional monthly question and answer session. Class is held online using zoom.

Bezel Set Seaglass

Learn how to texture, size, solder and set a stone in a three hour class. Each student will learn how to make their own bezel, then texture a pendant and solder them together. After the pendant is created, each student will learn how to set a stone in a bezel setting. All materials are included, but if you have a gemstone, beach stone or seaglass that you are partial to, please feel free to bring it in. No experience necessary.

You’ll also hear stories of people in our community who are working on, or have become citizens, and why it is so important to them. Play the Ukulele, The Journey Begins Here!

Learn to play the ukulele! It has never been more popular and you don’t even need to know how to read music! On the uke you can knock out folk music, rock, blues, jazz, pop, country, tunes old and new -- even classical music. Duncan Perry, who has taught more than 700 students of all ages, will introduce you to essential chords and playing techniques using familiar songs. There are lots of laughs along the way and learning to play an instrument is good for your brain! You will need a playable ukulele and an electronic tuner or a tuner app. And when folks hear you play this happy instrument, well, they just have to smile! If you don’t own a ukulele, please contact us for information. What are you waiting for? Grab a uke and get ready for a musical adventure, then spread the joy!

CNA February Nursing Assistant (CNA) Class

We partner with the quality facility Durgin Pines to help you learn the caring skills you need to earn your certificate and employment. Online Class is: February 5, 2024 Classes will be on Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays 8am-2pm In-person at Durgin Pines: LAB: TBD CLINICAL: TBD Please note: This is not an actual registration for the class. You must complete an orientation and assessment. The dates for orientation and assessment are: You must have confirmation from Buffy (207-344-3879) at Durgin Pines in order to be officially registered for the class. Continuum employees have preferred seating.
If you work for Durgin Pines, you can earn as you learn they will pay you to take the class, therefore the call is free. If don't want to work for Durgin Pines you can pay for the class yourself it's $1250.
